40 years ago, Techniprodec set themselves the challenge of machining parts for the aerospace and defense industries in addition to precision assembly. On the path to success, the use of TopSolid CAD/CAM software has been a considerable asset.
Founded in 1975, Techniprodec has seen markets evolve and competition increase with globalization. Opting for a Lean production strategy, combined with powerful machine tools, dedicated employees and cutting-edge software solutions, has enabled them to stand out from the competition.
Today, Techniprodec exports more than 25% of its production abroad and supplies several OEMs located near its premises in Montreal, Quebec. It counts Bombardier Aerospace, Bell Helicopter and Messier Dowty among its long-time customers.
To satisfy an increasingly demanding customer base, Techniprodec had to make some choices in the early 2000s. At a time when several CAM software packages were available on the market, Jean-Philippe Castagnet, CTO of Cad-Cam Services, was able to demonstrate that TopSolid was the best choice. Today, over 15 years after making this choice and despite pressure from OEMs to use CATIA software, Techniprodec remains a leader in its field and this again thanks to the use of TopSolid. According to Sébastien Farkas, VP Operations and son of the founder, the ease and speed of designing and programming are what made the difference at the time of choosing TopSolid.
